Attraction Marketing and Myspace
Social Marketing June 22nd, 2008I have been getting asked more and more as of late to what it takes to run a successful MySpace campaign. My response is always the same. To run a successful MySpace campaign, all you need is two hands and a computer. That takes care of 95% of things. The other thing you need is an understanding of attraction marketing.
As I stated earlier it doesn’t take much at all to create a MySpace marketing campaign. The best part, (in my humble opinion) is that it costs absolutely nothing to get started and set up a profile. This makes it easier for you if you don’t have a bunch of money to spend on marketing.
Now the “secret” to an effective marketing campaign is not to sell on your page but rather to give information away. Talk about yourself. Let people in to your life and show them that you are a real person. How have you arrived at the point where you have enough belief in yourself to embark on a plan to make money on the internet? When you share like that, you start to really connect with people. They will want to know you and you will make some great relationships. This is what is known as attraction marketing.
Most of the people using MySpace for marketing have no idea what they are doing. They think that their page is the opportunity to sell, sell, and sell. But honestly, who wants to see yet another sales pitch in any from or fashion. We get those enough in our everyday lives.
People come onto MySpace to connect with friends and maybe meet some cool new people and build relationship. Remember this not only here but also in all your marketing efforts. People connect with people, not products.
Follow this pattern and your efforts will be well rewarded.
